Joe Wong

Self-titled as an “all American immigrant,” Joe Wong came a long way from a rosy-eyed new immigrant to a blossoming comedian. His jokes range from ethnic, personal, political, observational to bizarre. Moving to Boston in late 2001 to take advantage of the well-established comedy scene, he quickly became a Boston favorite among comedians and audience members alike. Cheered on by his fellow comedians, Joe was a finalist in the 2003 Boston International Comedy Festival, thus making his way to the top eight of some 300 contestants from all over North America. He recently made his television on the Late Show with David Letterman and was a huge hit. He is also making big waves on Youtube.com. Currently, Joe performs regularly in major comedy clubs and colleges throughout the country, as well as benefits and corporate events. His volume of comedy material, his originality, and his "cut-from-a-different-kind-of-mold" character create a persona that audiences can't help but love.

Big Jay Oakerson

Jay Oakerson began honing his storytelling style of stand-up comedy after a series of dead-end jobs, like driving around strippers and escorts in his hometown of Philadelphia. This won him the comedy portion of the Salem Orb-E Future Faces Competition and gave him the chance to perform at New York City's noted comedy club Carolines on Broadway. Now an eleven year stand-up veteran, the 32-year-old New York City resident has made comedy his full-time job, flooring audiences with anecdotal bits about ultra-macho frat boys or being too fat for karate. Jay has performed at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and is currently starring and writing consultant on the hit IFC show Z-Rock, where he received critical acclaim for his performance as “Neil”, the sexually questionable owner of a NYC rock club. Jay has also appeared on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn and Dave Attell's Insomniac Tour, and was a contributing writer for Chappelle’s Show.

Keep an eye out for Big Jay Oakerson’s half-hour special airing on Comedy Central and the release of Big Jay Oakerson: An American Storyteller available now on Comedy Central Records & iTunes. Big Jay is coming off a 7 week tour opening for KoRn and is currently on tour with Rockstar Mayhem Fest!

Stand Up Comedy Seminar
with Neil Leiberman

Neil Leiberman Celebrates 30 Years
As The Bay Area’s Comedy Coach!

The Punch Line Comedy Club presents nationally acclaimed Comedy Coach®, Neil Leiberman, for a one-day Stand-Up Comedy Seminar on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2010 – 1-4 PM.

Leiberman is the Talent Booker and co-founder along with George Carlin and Jonathan Winters of the worlds premier comedy record company, Laugh.com, Inc.
Neil is celebrating 30 years as The Bay Area’s Original Comedy Coach®. Leiberman’s students work year round as Headliners and also perform on Letterman, Leno, Conan, Ferguson, Reno 911, Saturday Night Live, The Office, HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, Just For Laugh Comedy Festival, etc.

Hundreds of Bay Area Comedians have utilized one-on-one coaching with Neil Leiberman, as well as, attended his annual comedy seminars.

The Comedy Coach takes great pride in his many students who have achieved success in clubs, television, and films, but has always stayed in the background and refuses to take credit and break his students anonymity, unless they have given express consent to do so. He feels that the audience should never be aware the performer has been coached in any way and everything that is spoken must sound as if it were created on the spot.

Leiberman kids, “It is a thrill to watch a longtime student go from open-miker to Opening act, to Feature act, to Headliner and then refuse to take my phone calls.”

Neil’s recipe for success is his ability to conform to every student’s unique personality. Leiberman says, “It’s crucial that everyone I coach has an indistinguishable point of view, a clean act and a memorable one. Audiences are much more comedy-savvy than ever before, so we can no longer get away with jokes that sound like jokes. Everything needs to sound as if it is a personal recollection. ‘Two lawyers walk into a bar…’ is no longer acceptable.”

The coach fell in love with the Bay Area when he attended San Francisco State University as a film/theatre student in the late 70’s. “This is the best training region for Comedians in the United States. There is more stage time available for fledgling Comedians than almost anywhere else in the world. The Bay Area is an extremely supportive comedy community.”

Neil spent many years as a Stand-Up Comedian and still performs occasionally in clubs, colleges and corporations. He became The Comedy Coach when he realized that other Comedians were asking his advice on their act and the advice actually worked. So, instead of a life of traveling and breathing cigarette smoke (you could smoke in clubs back then) he decided to create a job that never existed before, a full time, one-on-one coach for Comedians, Actors, Speakers, etc.

The seminar is for amateur comics, working comedians, public speakers, actors, writers, on-air TV & Radio personalities, and anyone that would like to fine-tune their sense of humor.

Ha Ha Heathens!

An all-athiest comedy show with Johnny Steele,
Keith Lowell Jensen, John Ross and Samson Koletkar!

You probably won't be struck by lightning if you attend. You definitely won't be made to sing, kneel, pray or tithe as this godless batch of funny folks serve up sacred cow, well done. People of all faiths are welcome and, so long as they bring their senses of humor, sure to have a good time. MEET THE HEATHENS:

Popular TV and Radio personality, JOHNNY STEELE is a bay area legend. He has been performing comedy since the early eighties, worked the morning shift on Live 105 and hosted "The Show", on KRON/Bay TV. Be aware: An audience full of atheists will not get a free pass from this scathing social critic's razor sharp wit.

The atheist representative on the popular Coexist? Comedy Tour and a recent guest on Lopez Tonight, KEITH LOWELL JENSEN is perhaps best known as the panhandling expert on Spike TV's Manswers where he flew his "Atheist, will convert for food or money. God Bless?" sign and panhandled a school bus full of children for their lunch money.

The original Christian on The Coexist? Comedy Tour, JOHN ROSS did some bathroom reading and within five flushes found himself qualifying for the Ha Ha Heathens comedy show. Ross has an intensely personal approach to comedy, talking openly about growing up with drug addicted parents and spending his early adult years touring the country playing guitar in a popular Christian Rock band.

A Indian Jewish, atheist comedian, SAMSON KOLETKAR draws humor from his experience as a very rare breed both in his homeland of India and even more so in his new home, San Francisco.

The Sklar Brothers

As actors, Randy and Jason Sklar have guest starred in many TV shows, including an Emmy Award winning episode of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, the cult FX hit “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, as well as Adult Swim’s Childrens’ Hospital. They starred as conjoined twins in a memorable episode of Grey's Anatomy and as warring agents on HBO's Entourage. Of the Entourage episode, Entertainment Weekly television critic Paul Katz wrote of their turn, “in the hands of comedic masters, The Sklar Brothers, they made it soar.” They’ve also appeared in such films as Touchstone's, Wild Hogs, and Fox Atomic's, The Comebacks. In November of 2006, Randy and Jason wrapped their 4th and final season of their critically acclaimed comedy series, Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic. They also wrote and appeared in a regular segment on ESPN's SportsCenter called, “The Bracket” from 2008 to 2009. In addition they regularly fill in as guest hosts for Jim Rome on his popular nationally syndicated radio show. As stand up comedians, they recorded their second half hour Comedy Central Presents in November 2009 and it premiered in March of 2010. Neil Strausse of the New York Times said of the Sklars, “Their comedy accepts the reality of being twins but does not use it as a crutch. Instead," noted Strauss, "they work with their physical and mental similarities and correspondences, their status as imperfect carbon copies of each other. In their comedy, the straight man is often an echo." Randy and Jason currently reside in Los Angeles, where they record their new weekly sports comedy podcast Sklarbro Country for earwolf.com.

Marc Maron

For over fifteen years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing raw, honest and thought-provoking comedy for print, stage, radio and television. A legend in the stand-up community, he has appeared on HBO, Conan, Letterman, his two Comedy Central Presents specials and almost every show that allows comics to perform. His book based on his solo show, The Jerusalem Syndrome: My Life as a Reluctant Messiah, is out of print and overpriced by vendors who think it might have some collectors value. His three CDs, “Not Sold Out’, ‘Tickets Still Available’ and ‘Final Engagement’ are comedy cult classics.

This year, Marc headlined an episode of Comedy Central’s John Oliver’s NY Stand-Up Show and was ranked #7 in Comedy Central’s annual Stand-Up Showdown. His podcast “WTF with Marc Maron,” featuring in-depth interviews with comedy icons like Robin Williams and Ben Stiller, averages 160,000 listeners per week. The show hit #1 on the iTunes comedy charts numerous times and has been downloaded by 4.4 million people since its inception in September 2009.

“Marc Maron is a startlingly honest, compelling and hilarious comedian-poet. Truly one of the greatest of all time.” -Louis CK

"I've known Marc for years and I can tell you first hand that he's passionate, fearless, honest, self-absorbed, neurotic, and screamingly funny. And if that's not a delicious recipe for a night of painfully hilarious comedy... Oh, and he's a Jew!!!" -David Cross

Also performing will be Ryan Singer and Janine Brito!
