Get a glimpse at tomorrow's hottest comics today at the Future of Comedy Showcase, a hilarious night of stand-up hosted by Kabir "Kabeezy" Singh. A high-energy, crowd-pleasing comic with an in-your-face attitude and razor-sharp wit, Kabeezy's won numerous comedy competitions, including taking first place at the SF International Comedy Competition, and has opened for top comedy stars like Dave Chappelle, Dane Cook and more. Kabir was also featured on "Gabriel Iglesias Stand Up Revolution" Season 3 on "Comedy Central" and will be on the Season Premiere of Fox's "Laughs" Sept 10th. For each showcase, he'll welcome the best and brightest up-and-coming comics from the Bay Area and beyond for an evening of fun, intimate stand-up.
Headliner Joe Klocek is a square peg in a round hole sort of guy. Raised a Midwesterner, so he has manners, but living in San Francisco for 20 years, so he thinks he's better than you. Joe does two things great - tells stories and talks to the crowd. Joe has just returned from a two month "comic in residency" at the first comedy club in Shanghai, China where he recorded an album exclusively for the expat community living and laughing there. Joe was recently featured on NPR's, "Snap Judgement" and has also appeared on Comedy Central’s "Live at Gotham," NBC's "Last Comic Standing," and was commentator for the Emmy award winning documentary "A Bridge So Far." Co-creator of the critically acclaimed storytelling show, "Previously Secret Information," Joe has also been a runner-up in the San Francisco International Comedy Competition and the Seattle Comedy Competition. Voted "Best Comic" in the 2011 SF Weekly Readers Poll. Joe has performed at every major comedy club in the country, including Alaska and is a regular on the Bay Area comedy scene.
Feature Mark Smalls is a hard-hitting comic out of the SF Bay Area. Whether it's a tough bar room or a nice comedy club, Mark pulls no punches with his comedy. Performed at SF Sketchfest 2016 and placed third in Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition in 2016. You can catch him regularly at Docs Lab in SF or working with #Hellafunny at the SF Foundry.
